Terms of Use

1. Acceptance and eligibility

By downloading, accessing, purchasing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

You must be legally able to enter into this agreement. If you use StubFolio for a business or another organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.

2. What StubFolio does

StubFolio helps you enter pay information, prepare paystub or payslip records, organise pay runs, and generate documents for review, export, and sharing.

StubFolio is a document-preparation tool. It does not calculate or verify statutory payroll amounts, file tax or payroll obligations, move money, or verify that a payment has occurred. It is not payroll, tax, accounting, employment, or legal advice.

3. Your responsibilities and acceptable use

You are responsible for the accuracy, completeness, legality, and suitability of every value, record, and document you create or share with the App. Before issuing a document, you must review it and independently confirm any taxes, deductions, entitlements, reporting obligations, and other requirements that apply in your jurisdiction.

You agree not to use StubFolio to:

• create false, deceptive, fraudulent, or unlawful documents;
• impersonate another person or misrepresent employment, income, payment, or business information;
• infringe privacy, intellectual property, employment, or other rights;
• upload or share information that you do not have the right to use; or
• interfere with, reverse engineer, misuse, or attempt to compromise the App, except where applicable law expressly permits it.

4. Your content and data

You retain your rights in the information and documents you create. You give us only the limited permission needed to process that content on your device and provide the App's features.

StubFolio stores its working data on your device and uses a private iCloud database through your Apple account for synchronisation. Core creation features can work offline. Apple controls iCloud availability and the operation of your Apple account.

You are responsible for protecting access to your devices and Apple account, keeping any appropriate backups, and checking the destination and recipients before exporting or sharing a document. Once you export or share content to another app, service, or person, their handling of it is outside StubFolio's control.

5. Purchases, subscriptions, and trials

StubFolio may offer free features, monthly or yearly auto-renewable subscriptions, a lifetime purchase, and promotional or trial offers. The options available to you, their current price, duration, and included features are shown in the App and the App Store before purchase.

Billing and renewal

Apple processes all purchases through your Apple Account. An auto-renewable subscription renews at the end of each billing period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before that period ends. Apple may charge the renewal within the 24 hours before the end of the current period.

If a free or discounted trial is offered, the purchase screen will show its duration and the price that applies afterwards. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, it may convert to a paid subscription.

Managing purchases

You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings and restore eligible purchases from within the App. Deleting the App does not cancel an active subscription. A lifetime purchase is a one-time purchase for the version and features offered under that product; it does not create a subscription.

Apple handles payment processing, billing disputes, and refund requests under its rules and applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund, remedy, or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

We may change future prices, plans, or included features. Any subscription price change is handled through the App Store and applies in accordance with Apple's notice and consent requirements. You may cancel if you do not wish to continue at a new price.

6. App licence and intellectual property

The App is licensed, not sold. Subject to these Terms and Apple's usage rules, you receive a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable licence to use StubFolio on Apple-branded devices that you own or control.

StubFolio, including its software, design, branding, templates, and original content, is owned by Karma Academy or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the App or our intellectual property to you.

Your licence is also subject to Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If Apple requires a term for App Store distribution that is not addressed here, the applicable Apple term continues to apply.

7. Apple and third-party services

The App depends on services provided by Apple, including the App Store, StoreKit, iCloud, and your Apple Account. Your use of those services is governed by your agreements with Apple. You must also comply with any applicable third-party terms when using StubFolio.

Apple is not responsible for maintaining or supporting StubFolio. Karma Academy, not Apple, is responsible for the App and for addressing claims about it, subject to these Terms and applicable law. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the licence terms and may enforce them against you.

8. Availability, support, and updates

We work to keep StubFolio useful and reliable, but we do not promise that every feature will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device or operating-system version.

We may improve, update, suspend, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, technical reasons, or product development. Updates may be required to continue using some features. Where practical, we will avoid materially reducing paid functionality without reasonable notice.

9. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, StubFolio is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that calculations, inputs, documents, or guidance are accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your particular purpose.

You should obtain qualified payroll, tax, accounting, employment, or legal advice where appropriate. You remain responsible for reviewing the final document and complying with the laws, awards, agreements, record-keeping rules, and reporting obligations that apply to you.

10. Liability and consumer rights

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies a right, guarantee, warranty, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Karma Academy is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App. This includes loss caused by inaccurate user inputs, failure to review a document, regulatory non-compliance, third-party services, unauthorised account access, or an export or share destination selected by you.

Where liability can lawfully be limited, our aggregate liability relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid for StubFolio during the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not apply where it would be unlawful or to liability that cannot be limited.

11. Ending use of the App

You may stop using StubFolio at any time. Remember that deleting the App does not cancel an App Store subscription.

We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of serious or repeated misuse, unlawful conduct, security risk, or a material breach of these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should continue after termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and governing law—will remain in effect.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You and Karma Academy submit to the courts with jurisdiction in Queensland.

This section does not prevent you from relying on mandatory consumer protections or bringing a claim in another forum where applicable law gives you that right.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to StubFolio, law, Apple requirements, or our business. We will change the effective date on this page and provide additional notice where required. Your continued use after updated Terms take effect means you accept them; if you do not agree, stop using the App and cancel any active subscription.
